Maintenance Technician – Night Shift

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our food manufacturing team at our Hartwell, GA plant. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to support safe, efficient, and continuous operations.
Food production or food manufacturing experience is highly preferred, with experience in meat or protein processing considered especially valuable. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and electrical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and related equipment issues.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential failures or maintenance needs.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, installations, and equipment modifications as needed.
- Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment conditions.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs and recommend improvements to equipment reliability.
- Support the safe and efficient operation of food production equipment and processing systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with production and other maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance preferred.
- Food production or food manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Experience working with meat, protein, or other food-processing equipment is a strong plus.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Basic computer skills and ability to document maintenance activities.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work a rotating night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Ability to safely lift, bend, climb, stand, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods.

This position follows a rotating 12-hour night shift schedule:
Night Week 1
- Monday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Tuesday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Saturday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Sunday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Night Week 2
- Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Thursday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Friday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Pay: $25.26/hour
- Night Shift Differential: +$1.00/hour
- Full-time position
