Production Supervisor / Team Leader – Night Shift
Location: Logansport, Indiana
Shift: Night Shift | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour schedule (2-2-3)
Compensation: $75,000 annually, increasing to $80,000 after 90 days
Position Overview
A growing food manufacturing and production facility is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor / Team Leader to provide hands-on leadership for night-shift operations. This individual will be responsible for leading production employees, maintaining safe and efficient operations, meeting production goals, and ensuring quality and food safety standards are consistently followed.
The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, food production, meat processing, or industrial production environment.
Work Schedule
This position works 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
Week 1:
- Work Monday and Tuesday
- Off Wednesday and Thursday
- Work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Week 2:
- Off Monday and Tuesday
- Work Wednesday and Thursday
- Off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
This rotating schedule provides a consistent pattern of alternating workdays and days off while supporting continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and supervise production employees during the assigned shift.
- Ensure daily production schedules and departmental goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Monitor staffing levels, workflow, productivity, and employee performance.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure employees follow all company policies, GMPs, sanitation procedures, quality standards, and food safety requirements.
- Address production issues and coordinate with maintenance, quality, sanitation, and management teams to minimize downtime.
- Train and develop employees on job duties, safety procedures, equipment operation, and company expectations.
- Conduct shift meetings and clearly communicate production priorities and performance expectations.
- Maintain accurate production, labor, downtime, and other operational records.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall production performance.
- Handle employee coaching, performance concerns, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure effective shift handoffs and communication between departments and leadership teams.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader, Lead, or similar manufacturing leadership role preferred.
- Experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, industrial manufacturing, or a high-volume production environment is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety, quality, sanitation, and production processes.
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour night-shift schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to leadership.
- Basic computer and production reporting skills preferred.
Compensation
- Starting salary: $75,000 per year
- Increase to $80,000 per year after 90 days
