Industrial Maintenance Trades – Millwrights, Electricians & Toolmakers (UAW)

Location: Located in Whitehall, MI — commutable from Muskegon, Grand Haven, and Grand Rapids.

Pay: $33.20/hr → $38.00/hr within ~6 months

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll support maintenance operations in a high-output industrial environment, keeping critical production equipment running efficiently and minimizing downtime.

This is a hands-on role for experienced trades professionals who are comfortable troubleshooting and working directly on equipment.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and/or electrical issues on production equipment
  • Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
  • Perform welding, pipefitting, and light fabrication
  • Align belts, sheaves, and rotating equipment
  • Support preventative maintenance and reduce downtime
  • Partner with production and engineering to improve equipment performance

What We’re Looking For

You must meet one of the following:

  • 8+ years of industrial maintenance / millwright / machine repair experience
  • Completed apprenticeship program (certificate required)
  • Journeyman card (Millwright or Machine Repair)

Additional requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical and/or electrical)

Preferred Experience

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting
  • Die casting, aerospace, or metal fabrication environments
  • High-volume manufacturing operations

Schedule & Shift Details (Important)

  • First 60 days: 1st shift (training period)
  • After training: 2nd or 3rd shift (based on seniority)
  • Long-term shift assignment tied to union structure

Work Environment

  • Heavy industrial setting
  • Exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment
  • PPE and safety standards strictly enforced
