Schedule & Call Requirements

• Day Shift
• 40 hours per week
• On-call required
• Four weekday call shifts
• One weekend call rotation (Friday-Sunday)
• One on-call weekend per month
• One summer holiday and one winter holiday on-call rotation
• No floating to other departments

What You'll Do

As a Cardiac Cath Lab RN, you'll provide specialized nursing care before, during, and after cardiovascular procedures while collaborating closely with physicians and the Cath Lab team.

Your responsibilities include:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments before cardiac procedures.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Circulate during cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
• Monitor patient status throughout procedures and respond rapidly to clinical changes.
• Assist physicians during:
• Left Heart Catheterizations
• Right Heart Catheterizations
• Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
• Pacemaker Insertions
• Pulmonary Embolism Interventions
• Manage patients requiring advanced hemodynamic support devices, including:
• Impella
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
• Provide post-procedure monitoring, recovery, and patient education.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records.
• Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

We're looking for candidates with:

• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience
• 2 years preferred

Required Clinical Skills

Experience with:

• Cardiac Cath Lab Circulating Nurse duties
• Left Heart Catheterization
• Right Heart Catheterization
• Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
• Impella
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
• Pacemaker insertion procedures
• Pulmonary Embolism intervention cases

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:

• Critical Care / ICU
• Electrophysiology (EP)
• EPIC Electronic Medical Record
• Mac-LAB
• Sensis

Education

Required

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure & Certifications

• Active New Jersey RN License or Multi-State Compact RN License
• Current BLS (AHA)
• Current ACLS (AHA)
• Telemetry competency/certification
